Flat tires are something that all drivers may come into contact with at some point in their lives. Knowing the proper way to change a flat tire can save you time and money if done properly.
First, you must make sure you are in a clear area and put the hazard lights on. Put on the parking brake and place the wheel wedges behind the tires to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Next, remove the hub cap and loosen the lug nuts. Place the jack under the vehicle and raise the vehicle up. Remove the lug nuts and take off the flat tire.
You will then place the spare tire on the lug bolts and put the lug nuts back on, hand tightening them. Lower the vehicle back to the ground and fully tighten the lug nuts. Finally, replace the hub cap and remove wheel wedges.
